The installation package
Draw the limits of a partial bathroom remodel directly on the scope: demolition stops, retained fixtures, protection and finish repairs. Specify who takes responsibility at the junction between new and existing work. This is particularly important where the replacement bathing area meets an old floor or wall system.
Before accepting a proposal
Check that the written proposal names the products, defines the demolition boundary and explains the connection to retained work. Identify any allowance or unresolved selection, and ask who coordinates the relevant trades. Agree how concealed conditions will be documented and how changes require authorization. A broad installation label leaves too much room for different assumptions about what the finished project includes.
How should exclusions be handled?
List them alongside the work, not only in general terms. If the floor remains, describe any patch or transition required at the shower; if the valve remains, identify how compatibility and condition will be checked.
