Translate the layout into work
For a 5x8 plan, assess an alcove replacement before proposing fixture relocation. Document finished wall thickness, drain location and the enclosure opening relative to the toilet and vanity. Separate a same-footprint installation from any floor or plumbing expansion in the proposal.
Verify before procurement
A room-size label does not establish installation clearances or available framing depth. The measured drawing should include finished surfaces, openings, fixture projections and drain positions. Assign field verification before ordering products. Where an arrangement changes plumbing or structure, identify that work separately so the price reflects the actual layout rather than a generic room package. Also label retained fixtures and adjacent finishes that must be protected or repaired during installation.
What is a useful alternate proposal?
One option retaining the bathing footprint and another showing the specific benefit of changing it. Price the related plumbing and finish differences so the owner can assess the layout improvement.
