The installation package
Translate a senior bathroom brief into specific work: threshold changes, support backing, seating, reachable controls and any circulation adjustments. Record the user's priorities and which design assumptions require review. Coordinate these measures with the shower or tub replacement so later accessories do not require reopening finished walls.
Before accepting a proposal
Check that the written proposal names the products, defines the demolition boundary and explains the connection to retained work. Identify any allowance or unresolved selection, and ask who coordinates the relevant trades. Agree how concealed conditions will be documented and how changes require authorization. A broad installation label leaves too much room for different assumptions about what the finished project includes.
Can support bars be added at the end?
Some systems allow later installation, but the required attachment and positioning should be planned now. The installer needs to know where support is needed and how the chosen product is fixed to the wall assembly.
