For suspected pan leakage, separate diagnosis from the replacement scope. If rebuilding proceeds, specify the drain connection, base support, wall-to-base waterproofing junction and verification before finishes conceal the work. Identify any wall removal necessary to make a continuous new assembly.
Set a hold point for concealed conditions
Document what is known before removal and what will be checked after access is available. Require findings and a proposed scope change before authorizing additional concealed work. The final assembly should be specified only with those findings accounted for. This is a substantial remodeling pathway; repair-only work, service calls and isolated maintenance are not established as accepted services.
What should a pan replacement proposal include beyond the pan?
The interfaces: drain, substrate, wall junction and finish restoration. Those components determine whether the work is a complete replacement assembly or an incomplete exchange of the visible base.
