Specify the complete system
Define the solid surface product, fabrication scope and installation method in the proposal. Include seams, penetrations, edge finishing and substrate requirements. Determine which components are fabricated to measure and which are standard pieces; that affects verification, handling and the response to site discrepancies.
Before accepting a proposal
Check that the written proposal names the products, defines the demolition boundary and explains the connection to retained work. Identify any allowance or unresolved selection, and ask who coordinates the relevant trades. Agree how concealed conditions will be documented and how changes require authorization. A broad installation label leaves too much room for different assumptions about what the finished project includes.
Who is responsible for the final measurements?
The contract should identify the measuring and fabrication responsibility. Confirm when dimensions are taken and who approves them, especially if new backing or a changed base affects the finished opening.
